Mug Monday: A Review

It is always great to hear that people love "Mug Monday." Since beginning Mug Monday, we have featured the work of 28 resident artists and one intern. We even included a mug for our "Date Night" workshop that is available for registrations- January 17 and February 14 from 6-9 pm.  Mug Monday will continue next year. Can't wait to see the creations!

Mug Monday- Jerry Abend

It's Mug Monday! Today's mug is by Resident Artist and Education Director Jerry Abend. Not only does Jerry sign his name to his but he dates and numbers them. He also inspired Resident Artist and Instructor Leslie Colonna to create a sculpture of him. It is just one of the many wonderful things about ClaySpace's community. We care and inspire each other.

Mug Monday with Amy Martinez

It's Mug Monday. This organic looking mug was created by Resident Artist Amy Martinez. Amy joined the ClaySpace family nearly a year ago. We missed her at our holiday open house and hope her daughter Olivia is feeling better. Amy's beautiful giraffe platter was a hot item in our raffle. Thanks Amy. Resident Artist Cathy Code's son won it! He was so excited when he got the news.

Holiday Open House: Lee Ristow

One of the best things about ClaySpace is the community and the people who step up to serve on our board. These leaves were made by Resident Artist and President Lee Ristow. Leaves are her trademark. The large leaf is 9" h x 7" w and sells for $12. The smaller two set of leaves is 4" h x 9.5" w and sells for $10. You can find more of her work for sale at our Holiday Open House this weekend.

Holiday Open House: Kate Keilty

Through my work, I am motivated by a fascination with clay and with nature. I am especially inspired by the nature found in my garden. For me, there is something about carving/drawing into leather hard clay that is so satisfying. I aim to produce ceramics that are interesting, accessible, affordable and encourage people to look afresh at the natural world around them. -Kate Keilty

This wonderful "Go Big" platter was made by founder, instructor and our Director of Operations Kate Keilty. Kate has donated this piece for our raffle that will be happening during our Holiday Open House. Kate will also be selling her work and demonstrating how to throw on a wheel. This sweet green pot is 5" h x 6" w and sells for $25. The hibiscus pot is 6.5" h x 7" w and sells for $55. Kate's newest class is "Go Big" and you will also find many of Kate's large platters and bowls.
